The Good Old Daze exists to preserve, celebrate, and share the memories, culture, and spirit of American life from the 1950s through the 1970s. Our curation policy governs how we select content, verify historical accuracy, source photographs and media, and handle community contributions. We are committed to presenting nostalgic content that is authentic, respectful, and historically grounded.

Content Selection Standards

Every piece of content published on The Good Old Daze is evaluated against the following criteria before publication:

• Relevance: Content must relate to American culture, history, lifestyle, or memories from approximately 1945 to 1980, with a focus on the 1950s–1970s era.
• Authenticity: We prioritize content that accurately reflects the era, avoiding anachronisms or content that misrepresents the historical period.
• Community Value: Content should resonate with our audience of nostalgia enthusiasts and contribute positively to the shared memory of the era.
• Accuracy: Factual claims, dates, names, and historical details are verified against reliable sources before publication.
• Respect: Content must be respectful of all people and communities. We do not publish content that demeans, stereotypes, or disrespects any group.

Photographic and Visual Content

We take the sourcing of historical photographs seriously. Images used on The Good Old Daze are sourced from one of the following categories:

• Public domain images where copyright has expired or been released
• Images licensed under Creative Commons with appropriate attribution
• Images licensed directly from photographers or archives
• AI-generated images created specifically for The Good Old Daze
• Community-submitted images where the submitter has confirmed ownership

Historical Accuracy and Fact-Checking

We strive for historical accuracy in all our articles and posts. Corrections and Updates

When we discover or are informed of an error in our content, we correct it promptly and transparently. Significant corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected article with a brief description of what was changed and when.
